2026 Garden Visit & Lunch

May 14th, 2026
Martha Caldwell hosted the club for a garden visit followed by lunch. It was a beautiful day for 20+ club members to roam her daylily gardens and the back natural area. We then enjoyed a catered sandwich lunch and a delicious cake that one of our newer members baked to share. Everyone enjoyed conversations with a variety of topics, but most centered around daylily successes, suggestions, or foibles.

2026 NF Daylily Society Annual Daylily Show and Sale
May 9th, 2026
Our Show and Sale took place on May 9th at the Courtyard Marriott in Orange Park. It was a fantastic show despite drought and cold snaps which affected some of the blooms. A big THANK YOU goes out to each and every one of you who joined us, including our dedicated long-time members, enthusiastic hybridizers, passionate daylily lovers, and all those who came with a spark of curiosity about these stunning flowers. It was a pleasure to engage in meaningful conversations, answer your questions, and witness the enthusiasm for daylilies that filled the event. Your participation not only enriched the experience but also fostered a wonderful sense of community centered around our shared love for these beautiful blooms.
There is a lot of work that goes into potting, caring for, transporting, and setting up hundreds of flowers for the Show and Daylily Sale. Days before the actual show, teams of club volunteers met at the homes of club members growing these lovely flowers (Joe, Ray, Donald, Cynthia D) and loaded trucks for transport to our show location. Then additional members setup tables, sorted, priced, and made everything ready for the public to enjoy the event.
These images tell a story of shared passion between seasoned enthusiasts and first-time visitors to the awe-inspiring displays of daylilies in full bloom.

North Florida Daylily Society Annual Bus Trip 2026
April 2026
On April 18th, members of the North Florida Daylily Society embarked on a fun excursion to visit two Florida daylily gardens: Spacecoast Daylilies and Ladybug Daylilies, both located south of Jacksonville along the I-95 corridor. The trip proved to be successful by all accounts. Several of the members were enthralled with the Buc-ee comfort stop since they had never been in the establishment, but most resisted the urge to linger since the main attractions were waiting down the road.
The weather was sunny and bright; the gardens had 25-35 % blooms for viewing. This trip was a little earlier than most because of scheduling challenges with the Annual Convention in the mix, but there were plenty of vibrant blooms to enjoy. Members were able to pick up their pre-orders and then discover and acquire additional selections. John Kennebrew Jr, and Dan Hanson were more than willing to dig additional daylilies that were chosen.

Our journey was made all the more enjoyable by the smooth and comfortable bus ride. Many members took advantage of the relaxing atmosphere to indulge in a few peaceful naps, while others enjoyed the array of snacks provided, contributing to the convivial atmosphere on board.

Titusville Sonny’s provided a delicious lunch, where everyone savored their meal and shared lively conversation, recharging for the second leg of the daylily adventure.

Spacecoast Daylilies hybridizing program
Jan 12th, 2025
At Sunday’s North Florida Daylily Club at the Orange Park Public Library, John Kinnebrew presented his Spacecoast Daylilies hybridizing program where he described how he grows his daylilies and how he selects the cultivars for his crosses. It was quite interesting! The Club was excited he was finally available to present.
Following in his father’s footsteps as a hybridizer, John Kinnebrew has a wealth of experience with daylilies, and his collaboration with Jamie Gossard of Heavenly Daylily Garden has even further increased John’s knowledge and hybridizing potential. John brought 20 cultivars for our auction. Some of our members already have several Spacecoast daylilies!
